While making your way from place to place is generally via one discipline, our trips often combine one or more disciplines to complete the itinerary.
Each of our activities is defined generally below and you'll find detailed information on the number and types of adventures available as well as a rating that suggests what kind of physical exertion is required. Cycling | Explore Tasmania by bicycle. There are great tracks on & off road by fire trail and single track. Our on road cycling trips come with vehicle support. If you're not up to the challenge or that last hill looks a little too ambitious, you can ride in the support vehicle. It ensures great flexibility and comfortable touring. Regardless, the support team is there to spur you on! |

Kayaking | There is little doubt that kayaking is a fine way to explore remote rivers and coastlines. Our sea kayaking trips explore Tasmania and Queensland in Australia, Vanuatu and Fiji in the South Pacific. |

Rafting |
Some of Tasmania’s greatest wilderness is best enjoyed with a paddle in your hand. Whitewater rafting on the Franklin River is a core product for Tasmanian Expeditions. The 2008/09 season marks our 30th anniversary on the Franklin having pioneered the first commecial rafting trip down the Franklin in during the 1978/79 season.

Climbing
Tasmania has a reputation for world class rock climbing on the famous Dolerite crags. There are over 900 recorded climbs in Launceston's Cataract Gorge alone. Join pioneering climber Bob McMahon on a great day on the crag. The climbing will be tailored to suit your experience and ensure a great day of fun and adventure. From first-time beginners through to advanced, half and full day climbing trips are arranged on request

GRADE 3: Introductory level
GRADE 3: Introductory level

These trips involve trekking or walking, cycling, rafting or sea kayaking for up to five or six hours a day at a slow but steady pace. You will need a reasonable level of fitness and good health. (Note: This is not an easy trip).
* Suggested preparation: 30 minutes of aerobic type exercise, (either cycling or jogging) three times a week. For trekking, hill walking with a daypack in variable weather conditions is also recommended. For a cycling adventure, road cycling twice a week for three months prior to departure is recommended.
